Let's Talk Property Management

Hi All,

I am curious to know if any of our Canadian LTPM members-  property managers or property management firms in Canada have used or provided their tenants with a online rent payment option.

Is it a viable option for canadian tenants, please weigh on the pros and cons,  how will it be received and perhaps any challenges its currently facing for those who use it in the USA.

Let's talk about it,

Hi there!
We accept Pay Pal and Email Money Transfers. Tenants love the flexibility and we love that we don't have to physically go and collect rent. And with EMTs the money hits our account immediately - which is better than cheques which take 5 days to clear.

With PayPal you can actually set it up as a recurring payment so that is happens automatically even.

Hey Julie,

Thanks for sharing those 2 tips you use, got us thinking and i made a phone call to the banks where they provided the pros/cons of each system.

EMT's - can be set up as recuring, offers same day deposit, cost $18 (rate of $1.50 x12), requires email confirmation for acceptance, privacy no acct details shared just email addresses

3rd party bill payments- available when both parties bank with the same banking institution, no fee attached, funds hit acct by 5am of payable date, banking acct info has to be provided to payee.

I'll call paypal to better understand their system- cause i wonder if their recurring payment option can be placed as a point of sale system/link on our website.
