Let's Talk Property Management

This is for the apartment rental people, here goes---Are the washer and dryer units that are used by the tenants have coin(meaning-money operated or token operated) vending boxes on them? I have been pondering getting a couple of units,but..... until I came up with an idea to cut down on losing money by theft. The idea would be to set machines to take tokens much like the ones' at Chuckie Cheese or who else uses them and charge the tenants the equivical amount in tokens to use in the machines. EX. washing machine takes 4 quarters,so the machine would accept 4 tokens instead.Same for dryer. If tenant washes an average 6 times per month, then (s)he would pay about $30.00 per month for tokens. This would also free up managements role of having excess coins on hand or having to go to the bank with an excessive amount of coins to be ran through the coin machine at the bank(for a fee). The same type of system could be used on soda and laundry soap machines. Just a thought to help reduce theft and keep machines from getting vandalized. Also signs could be placed around laundry room, MACHINES AND ALL VENDING MUST USE TOKENS, PLEASE SEE MANAGEMENT!!
