Free Energy Checkups for Multifamily Properties in Maryland

I handle the marketing for greeNEWit, an energy solutions firm that provides Quick Home Energy Checkups (QHECs) through the BGE Home Energy Saver's Program.

This allows residential and multifamily units to get energy upgrades at NO additional charge to the monthly utility bills of tenants and owners. The upgrades include installation of energy efficient CFL light bulbs, aerators, low flow shower heads, hot water heat wraps and pipe insulation.

The only requirements are that the properties are separately metered (meaning each unit has their own utility bill) and are within BGE territory. We can offer this service at absolutely no cost to multifamily properties, and BGE reimburses us directly.

In a recent project conducted on 1,100 units, $125,000 annual savings were attained.

This is a great way to reduce energy usage across buildings, add value to residents and there is no cost to you as a property manager. Email sarah.f@greenewit.com if interested.
