In the current technological age all sectors of business have an increasing need for a web presence, but it can be particularly beneficial for property managers. Considering that most property managers and landlords on Let's Talk Property Management are engaged and familiar with the property management internet community, this post aims to detail some of the avenues that can be leverage to gain notoriety online and how each is valuable.
Blogging
It may seem that I am 'preaching to the choir', so to speak, by mentioning that blogging is important considering that you most likely already blog on Lets Talk PM but I would like to point out that blogs are one of the best ways to gain search engine engagement and user visibility. By having your own blog, as well as guest-blogging, you can gain coverage locally. By frequently mentioning your city/cities of operation along with keywords like 'rentals' or 'property management' you will increase your visibility in the event that a potential client or tenant searches for "Rentals in Denver" or "Property Management in Denver". This in turn will help drive business to your company.
Listings
In addition to your blog, listing on your own website are a good way to gain some clout on the internet. It gives your company a professional view while providing more pages on your site to boast rich content that will also be picked up by search engines and users. There are several tools that can assist in a simple listing platform, but I will cover this in a subsequent post
Social Media
Last, but certainly not least, is Social Media. It initially seemed silly to me to try to conduct business through social media, as it was a place to communicate with friends and family, but it is truly a good way to keep a good image. The primary value that social media provides for Property Managers is
to keep contact with your potential clients. For example: in the event that a tenant is seeking a new home and stumbles upon your site and chooses to link up with you on a social network before exiting your page, they may then be reminded to re-visit your site when they stumble upon a tweet or Facebook post that you have put out.
In addition to this, social media (much like word of mouth) is a great way to gain new clients that are friends, followers, family,or acquaintances of your existing clients.
