Move In inspection Reports!   Currently, we are filling them out for the tenants but it is taking up too much of our time single family homes.   Any input or processes that others are using would love to hear

    Hi Tom,

Whilst some reports can be done via phone/tablet apps, in New Zealand at our property management company  we still  use a paper ingoing/outgoing inspection report as we can quickly write comments and most importantly get tenant signatures.

The signatures confirm the agreed state of the property.

    Photos are taken as well.

The paper form can be used as a supporting document in any Tenancy Tribunal (court) cases. The courts are still very much paper based, requiring printed photos (in triplicate) rather than on a USB stick.

Perhaps it is worth doing an inspection with your team and observing how they move through the house.

Simple things like reorganizing the order of rooms, order check features within each room and standardizing the lot can help.
